Meet Steven
Steven Long proudly represents Boiling Springs and Inman in the State House. As a member of the Ways & Means Committee, he fights for conservative budget needs like roads and tax cuts. Serving on the Regulations Committee he grills state agencies to cuts unnecessary red tape. As Vice-Chair of the Economic Development ad hoc committee he has prioritized helping small businesses.
Steven has earned numerous awards during his service including the Taxpayer Hero award, Business Advocate award, Boiling Springs Citizen of the Year, American Legion Citizen Soldier award, Palmetto Family Champion award, Hollis Ayers Fire Chiefs Award, and others. He has served on several other committees including Labor, Commerce, & Industry, Education & Public Works, Medical, Military, & Municipal Affairs, and others. Steven is known as a conservative reform advocate who works with others to get things done.
In his personal life, Steven is a Bible believing follower of Christ and member of Mountain View Baptist Church. He and his wife Soulie live in Inman with their three children. In his free time he enjoys taking the family out to local parks, enjoying local restaurants, and hiking in the mountains. Professionally, Steven is a real estate broker primarily handling residential properties as well as land and consulting. He has prior experience in insurance as well as industrial & hazardous material environmental services with emergency response. He is a member of many community organizations including the Boiling Springs Business Association, Inman Area Chamber of Commerce, Sons of American Legion, and more.
Steven grew up in Boiling Springs attending Boiling Springs High School, Spartanburg Community College, and USC Upstate. He developed an interest in public service at a young age as an Eagle Scout and volunteering for local candidate races.
